She is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manual and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists, certified Gunn IMS (Intra-Muscular Stimulation) Practitioner and certified Röst therapist (for management of pelvic girdle pain) with continuing education in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
Over the past 20 years, Lynda has pursued her interest in physiotherapy for pelvic and reproductive health concerns and the biopsychosocial approach for the care of people with persistent pain. She has worked in the pelvic pain programme and continence clinic at BC Women’s Hospital.
She recognises the benefit of ‘movement is for life’ and encourages participation in home exercises, combined with treatment, to help you achieve your functional goals, whether for: everyday activities at home and work, playing sports or, to manage sensitive aspects of your bladder, bowel and/or sexual health.
Her treatment approach uses a combination of exercise therapy, manual therapy, Gunn IMS, pain management techniques, Rehabilitative Ultrasound Imaging (evaluation and biofeedback for the abdominals and lumbo-pelvic area) and postural advice.
Lynda has always been active -playing various sports and exploring the beautiful outdoors both on the water and in the mountains. Like many, she has experienced first-hand how physiotherapy and exercise can help you resume the activities you love.
She enjoys playing competitive Master’s field hockey, Pilates, biking, running (completed both 10km and half marathons), gardening and travelling.
